We have established an Advisory Board consisting of representative investors in the fund. The Advisory Board will periodically
review Miramar's investing and operating activities and provide counsel on matters relating to fund strategy. The initial members
of the Advisory Board are:
Henry Samueli
Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, Broadcom Corporation
Henry co-founded Broadcom Corporation in 1991 and serves as Chairman and Chief Technical Officer. He is responsible for the
research and development activities of the company. Broadcom Corporation is the leading provider of highly integrated silicon
solutions that enable broadband communications and networking of voice, video and data services. Henry also co-founded PairGain
Technologies in 1988 and served as Chief Scientist of the company until 1994. From 1985-1995 he was a Professor in the Electrical
Engineering Department at UCLA where he supervised advanced research programs in broadband communications circuits and published
over 100 papers on the subject. From 1980-1985, he held various engineering management positions in the Electronics and Technology
Division of TRW, Inc.
Henry is on the Board of Trustees of the UCI Foundation and he is chair of the UCI Chief Executive Roundtable.
He is also on the Industrial Advisory Boards of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA and the Henry
Samueli School of Engineering at UCI. In 2000 he received the UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Science Alumnus of the Year
Award as well as the UC Irvine Medal. In 2000 he was also awarded the University of California Presidential Medal. Henry received
a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 1975, 1976 and 1980, respectively.
Bob Hoff
General Partner, Crosspoint Venture Partners
Bob is a general partner in Crosspoint's Southern California office. Crosspoint is an early stage venture fund with over $1
billion of committed capital. Crosspoint focuses on vertical service providers, network-based service businesses and broadband
infrastructure. In 1983, Mr. Hoff established the Southern California office for Crosspoint, extending coverage to the Southwest,
and since that time has been involved as first round investor and Board member in a number of successful companies, including
Com21, Efficient Networks, iPivot, PairGain Technologies, STAC, and USWeb/CKS.
Bob served as a Director of the National Venture Capital Association from 1996 to 1999. He is a graduate
of Bucknell University, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Jeff Schnoor
Senior Vice President, Entrepreneurial Corporate Group
Jeff is a Senior Vice President at Entrepreneurial Corporate Group (“ECG”), a broad based private investment firm located in Newport Beach, which includes Entrepreneurial Investment Corporation and EIC Ventures, Inc. Jeff joined ECG in 1997 and currently manages all of its private equity and venture capital investments, which include both multiple fund investments and direct placements in private companies. He also oversees its aircraft operations, which include a charter company in Long Beach that manages seven Gulfstream aircraft.
Prior to joining ECG, Jeff was a Vice President at both Wells Fargo Bank and Citigroup in California and Colorado, focusing on commercial/corporate lending and private investments. He received a B.A. in marketing from the University of Puget Sound, and attended the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in finance.
Alan Salzman
Founding Partner, VantagePoint Venture Partners
Alan has been a venture investor in or a senior advisor to technology companies since the early 1980s. In 1996, Alan co-founded
VantagePoint, one of the world's largest and most active early stage venture funds with over $2.5 billion in capital under
management and deep expertise in various technology sectors.
Alan has been a senior or managing general partner of eight venture funds since 1988, with management
responsibilities for over $3 billion of committed capital. His experience includes all aspects of venture fund management,
including organization and fund raising, development of overall investment strategy and oversight of all investment and
divestment decisions with regard to portfolio companies. Alan has worked with and funded over 100 startup companies who
have collectively created over $30 billion of shareholder value. His investment experience includes technology companies
at all stages of development, including conceptualizing, co-founding and serving as the initial CEO of newly created
technology companies.
Alan has held a faculty appointment at Stanford Law School as an adjunct professor of Venture Capital
and Start-Up Companies for the past ten years. Alan attended the London School of Economics and the University of Toronto
(B.A.), Stanford Law School (J.D.) and the University of Brussels, Belgium (LL.M., International Business).
Glenn Doshay
President, Palantir Capital, Inc.
Glenn is President of Palantir Capital, Inc., an investment partnership with offices in San Diego, New York and San Francisco.
An entrepreneur with two firms to his credit, Glenn has over twenty years of experience as an investment analyst and portfolio
manager. Glenn is active in the San Diego community, having served on the Congregation Beth Am Board of Directors, and is
involved with Serenity Fund Charitable Trust and the San Diego Padres Board of Directors.
Glenn was awarded a B.A. in Economics, with honors, at UCLA, and an MBA, with highest honors, at the
University of Michigan.
Tom Ricks
Chief Investment Officer, H&S Ventures LLC
Tom Ricks is the Chief Investment Officer for H&S Ventures LLC. Prior to joining H&S Ventures in 2001, Mr. Ricks was President and CEO of The University of Texas Investment Management Company where he was responsible for the management of $15 billion of endowment and operating funds supporting The University of Texas System. He has also held various domestic and international finance positions in the oil and banking industries. He received a B.A. in economics from Trinity College, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and is a CPA. Mr. Ricks is a director of Newfield Exploration Company and serves on the board of the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, California. He is a former director of BDM International, DTM Corporation, LifeCell Corporation and Argus Pharmaceuticals.
